FAQ

The result of teeth whitening is never permanent. Over time, your teeth will become stained and discolored again. The time it takes depends, among other things, on your lifestyle (consumption of wine, coffee and tobacco). In general, the results remain visible for 12 to 20 months.

Yes, these spots are temporary. They are not harmful and disappear within a few hours.

This is due to the bleaching effect of the peroxide gel. These stains are temporary and not harmful. You can prevent this by thoroughly cleaning your hands with soap and water after using the strips.

If you experience severe tooth sensitivity during or after using Whitestrips™, stop using them for 1 to 3 days, then start again once a day. If you continue to have problems, stop using Whitestrips™ or try a lower-strength version. There are several ways to reduce tooth sensitivity. Use a toothpaste specifically designed for sensitive teeth (Sensodyne). Use a softer toothbrush to reduce pressure on the enamel. Use products with extra fluoride to strengthen enamel.

Whitening your teeth with Oral-B and Crest Whitestrips™ is a safe treatment. Oral-B and Crest Whitestrips™ contain peroxide, an enamel-safe ingredient used by dentists for teeth whitening. Extensive studies have shown that this product is safe when used as directed.

About one-third to one-half of users experience some tooth sensitivity or gum irritation during or after using Whitestrips™. This is temporary and is nothing to worry about. When teeth are exposed to high concentrations of peroxide, as is commonly the case in a clinic or dentist’s office, severe toothache can occur that may last for a few days.

Oral-B and Crest Whitestrips™ work only on natural teeth. The strips will not work on crowns, fillings or other dental work. Consult your dentist if you want to use the strips after dental work or before major dental work. Do not use the strips if you have braces.
